Семейство Гиацинтовые (Hyacinthaceae)

Травянистое луковичное растение, достигающее в высоту 10-40 см. Листья в числе 3-7, блестящие, сверху сизоватые, узко-линейные, 1-6(-10) мм в ширину, их нижняя сторона округлая, верхняя - желобчатая. Цветы лазурно-голубые, иногда с пурпурным оттенком, собраны в плотную кисть. Верхние цветки в соцветии стерильные, лишь слегка бледнее фертильных. Самые нижние цветки отходят почти горизонтально. Околоцветник сростнолепестной, цилиндрический, с 6 отогнутыми белыми зубчиками.
Родина растения - Кавказ, Малая Азия и Юго-Восточная Европа. Очень часто культивируется как декоративное и нередко дичает.
